Boom Running

Lessons are groups of six to eight students. They spend some time independent rolling, working on skills, and then also roll other students. In competition, two people are on the log at the same time. We want the kids to get a feeling of competition with other students.  We have a structured lesson plan with levels and testing at each level. As the students increase in ability, the instructors add more detail and skills.  We will end each lesson with a little competition or some fun games.

AGE

All age groups are based on the age of the student as of January first of that year.  If a student is five on January first, but turns six in the spring, they are considered five for log rolling.
We require student to be four years old by January first to participate in log roll lessons. This age usually offers the coordination and maturity to participate in lessons.
NRR uses a skill level assessment. We have four levels of skill and assessments. Each student will be tested one to two times per year. The skills taught will increase with even level attained.
